BETH’S TIP
While it's important to have a tried and true process in place, remember that when working with other cultures, you will find yourself in a situation where flexibility is required. This is especially true when working internationally but can even be necessary if you're used to working on the East Coast but have now been hired to work on the West Coast. There are cultural norms in place. There are different policies that venues and vendors adhere to and so on. So, yes. Have a process. Follow it as much as you're able. But keep in mind that adaptability is one of the top traits you need to have as an event planner, and nothing will test that skillset like planning a wedding thousands of miles away with vendors you don't know in a region you're not familiar with.
